Hotel Transylvania 3 dethroned Ant-Man & the Wasp to be the biggest money maker of this past week was a big surprise as it made $44.1 million compared to $29.1 million.

The rest of the top 10 continued with Skyscraper, Incredibles 2, Jurassic World, The First Purge and Sorry to Bother You.

There are a ton of great documentaries in 2018 and Three Identical Brothers is another amazing one this year. The three are grown up separately in sort of an experiment and two end up going to the same college.

“Three Identical Strangers” is the sort of movie that you should ideally see without knowing too much about it or what happens in it. This movie contains so many revelations that writing a little about the first few of them will really just be the tip of the iceberg.

With more and more people streaming their content whether it be video, music or podcast; it might be time to start requiring those mediums to provide emergency alerts which are shown on television, radio and cell phones.

These alerts can be for weather, amber alerts or other very important messages that need to be delivered to the masses. People are streaming content will not have that opportunity to get a potential message that could save one's life.

Senators from Hawaii and South Dakota are putting forth such measure to allow streaming providers to be able to patch through emergency alerts.

Doug and Steve give initial takes on the big movie of the week in Mama Mia: Here We Go Again, some movie news from the past week and much more.

At first, the sequel Mama Mia seemed a bit odd but it is a pleasant surprise. Doug Wright's review talks about how the music sucks you in and the story is great as well with the movie really getting into gear about 20 minutes in.

Yes, the ladies will love this movie but so will all of the guys who go out and see the show with them.

This one really surprised me.

This Friday is the 13th, so naturally, Doug and Steve want to discuss what movies are out on the streaming platforms to get you scared. Hulu is the best option for depth of great horror and thriller movies with Silence of the Lambs, the original IT, Carrie and more. If you want more of a supernatural movie then head over to Netflix for The Sixth Sense.

Doug also runs through a list of just bizarre horror movies which appear on Netflix this month.

In this week's movie the news there is a huge item of business and it involves one of the most famous homes to appear in a Hollywood movie. One of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous mansions, known as the Ennis House, is up for sale in East Los Angeles.

This home was featured in Blade Runner (1982), The House on Haunted Hill (1959) and The Replacement Killers(1998).

Other movie news is a new RoboCop film called RoboCop Returns is not really a sequel or a reboot but will be sort of based on the 1989 original.

Also, a Downton Abbey movie is officially a go.

Jul 14, 2018

The huge Hollywood movie of the week is The Rock's latest leading role -- there are too many to count, really, in Skyscraper. There are some who say it is in the same vein as the Die Hard movies, but it is not as good.

This movie is mostly dumb fun and there are some good parts in this movie which is about a Former FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and U.S. war veteran Will Ford (Dwayne Johnson) now assesses security for skyscrapers. He's on assignment in China when he finds the tallest, safest building in the world suddenly ablaze, and he's been framed for it.

Steve and Doug recommend this but with the caveat of going in without thinking all that much.

Jul 14, 2018

Doug and Steve set up what is to come in Friday's Movie Show as the two broadcast from Harvest Right. The big blockbuster movie of the week features Dwayne Johnson, or still The Rock to most, in Skyscraper.

There is a ton of movie news which includes a famous home being sold, a TV series extending its stay with a TV movie and will Mission Impossible ever be nominated for an Oscar?

Jul 6, 2018

The year is halfway over so now is a great time to go over the top grossing movies of the year, plus the traditional top 10.

Avengers: Infinity War is the top movie of the year so far, and probably will be in the same spot at the end of the year. Incredibles 2 is going to be one of the highest grossing films as well.

A Quiet Place had an amazing run and is a surprise money making movie.

For the week, it is Incredibles 2, Avengers, Tag, Deadpool among others.

Jul 6, 2018

The Movie Show gang discusses the latest Marvel movie which is Ant-Man and the Wasp which is a fun follow up to Avengers: Infinity War and both Steve Salles, Doug Wright and those at Megaplex enjoy the movie.

It is funny, snarky and better than the original, which is saying a lot since the first one was hilarious. This movie takes place between Captain American Civil War and Infinity War.

Steve Salles has one minor complaint about the movie but he still highly reccomends it.
